Dear Yuletide Writer (and Other Visitors),

First, I am doing this on DW because lj is refusing to cooperate for some reason, so please do not be alarmed by the empty journal. This sign-up is definitely not a sock/dentist. I am also ysse_writes on lj and AO3, if you want to take a look.

That said, we share a fandom! Yay! Maybe more than one! Fandom/s glee high-five!

As you may already suspect, chance (or maybe capital-f Fate) has matched you with someone with absolutely no social and subpar communication skills. Hopefully, my sign-up included sufficient information; however, just in case, here are some additional blatherings that may be of help. Maybe.

Do not be intimidated by the giant wall of text (for me, anyway) that follows here because I am ridiculously easy to please. The mere idea that someone is writing more fic for my fandom already fills my heart with glee, and the fact that it is being written especially for me is, well, that makes me downright giddy.

I’m pretty vanilla in my taste in fics so while I enjoy the occasional hyper-edgy, outrageously visceral, I-can’t-keep-track-of-all-the-appendages-in-play, mind-bendingly surreal fic, my general preference is for fics that are on the fluffy side. That said, I don’t mind angst and sadness and I’m totally okay with my faves suffering hardships on the way to their happy (or at least hopeful) ending. Just no downer endings, please.

General likes:

Yes please to characters having fun with one another; quiet moments of togetherness; family (no matter how you define it) and friends protecting and standing by one another; characters being their awesome selves; unprompted gestures of love, romantic or otherwise, whether subtle or so obvious only the truly oblivious would miss it; good winning over evil

Hard DNWs:

Please no to deathfic; grimdark; scat, inter-generational (incest between people of different generations) or sibling incest; animal death and torture; bestiality, threesomes/poly; AUs (especially mundane/modern AUs); first-person POV narrative; rape/noncon; sexual abuse of children or children in sexual situations; cannibalism; necrophilia; explicit gore and violence, turning good characters evil



Canons, requested characters, and prompts:

Nirvana in Fire
Xiao Jingrui

I love almost all of the characters in NiF so feel free to include as many as you like in your story, but after much deliberation, I decided that what I really wanted for this canon was a Jingrui-centric piece. His adventures in Da Yu, how he deals with the aftermath of his birthday party, his thoughts on and feelings for MCS, his feelings about his multiple families, his friendship with Yujin--go nuts! I ship both Jingrui/MCS and Jingrui/Yujin if you wish to go the shipping route, but please don't pair him with anyone else. I don't mind angst and sadness but I would prefer if the story ended on a happy or hopeful note.

DNWs specific to this canon:

Jingrui shipped with someone else other than Yujin or MCS



The Good Place
Janet, Jianyu Li/Jason Mendoza

I love them so much and ship them so hard! I know the canon isn't free from vaguely sinister undertones, but I would prefer a sweet, happy, kooky fic featuring the two of them being their sweet, happy, kooky selves with each other. Maybe about how the adventures they have or they find each other again in one of the failed attempts? I would prefer this fic to be romantic, but porn is not necessary. In canon, there is supposed to be a limitless number of Janets, both good a bad, but while I would love to read about other Janets, please make our!Janet (TM) (plus Jason) the focus of the fic.

DNWs specific to this canon:

Evil!Janet (i.e., our!Janet being evil, as opposed to Bad Place Janet), evil!Jason (Jason might be in the Bad Place but, for me, it’s more that he did unthinkingly did bad things rather than being actually evil. Maybe I should just say no evil humans), either one ending up with someone else (although either trying to seduce someone else *coughMichaelcough* for hilarity is totally okay), reincarnation fic, fic ending with any of the protagonists ending up in the Real Bad Place, onscreen visceral torture



NBC’s Kings
Jack Benjamin

Jack/Happiness is my main ship in Kings. I love Jack and just want him to be happy! I would like an exploration of what happens to Jack after the canon, preferably towards him finding his place, himself, and his happiness. I love almost everyone in the show so feel free to include all other characters you like, but I would prefer the story to not be David/Jack (though I am 100% here for their epic friendship). Jack finding happiness with someone else would be awesome though.
